Funding Opportunities


Specialities in the Bagchi-Parthasarathy Hospital


We seek funding for the following speciality wings of the hospital, including equipment in these clinical departments. Each wing will be named after the donor in perpetuity.

Endowments at the IISc Medical School

We plan to establish several endowed Chair Professorships, Visiting Chair Professorships,  provide stipend support for bright, young medical students and also enable them to travel abroad for internships at prestigious medical schools.

  • Chair Professorship: Rs 8 crore per Chair
  • Visiting Chair Professorship: Rs 4 crore per Chair
  • Student stipend: Rs 3.5 crore per student
  • Student internship: Rs 3 crore per student

All the endowments will be named after or according to the wishes of the donor in perpetuity.

IISc will provide periodic updates through its Donor Relations Office on completion of important milestones along with appropriate reports for CSR committees and other regulatory authorities. Proper acknowledgement of the funding both in digital and print platforms will be provided in addition to the perpetual naming of these funded wings and Chair Professorships.

Tax Information

  • Contributions made to the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) are exempted under Section 80G(2)(a)(iiif) of the Income Tax Act
  • IISc has set up an “IISc Foundation” in the US which has tax-exempt 501[c](3) status
  • IISc is also exempted from the provision of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Acts (FCRA) 1976, 2010 and 2020
  • IISc is audited by C&AG of India
  • Corporates may avail of the Corporate Social Responsibility provisions as applicable (CSR Category: “Promoting Education” and/or “Promoting Healthcare”)
